When Constance Zimmer was cast in Fire Country as Renee, the character was described as “a force to be reckoned with.” She fights for what’s right, especially in the conservation of the environment. Station 42 has learned that a company has been dumping waste carelessly, poisoning Three Rock’s water supply. In Fire Country Season 3, Episode 17, “Fire and Ice,” Renee returns and reveals her plan that affects Sharon’s (Diane Farr) deal with the company, Oxalta. Meanwhile, “The station 42 crew responds to a ski resort accident after a chair lift malfunctions, and Vince (Billy Burke) struggles to connect with his father,” reads the official logline and, “Grammy-nominated country star Jelly Roll guest stars as Noah, a healthcare worker and former convict who is in the process of turning his life around.” CBS released a sneak peek of the episode airing on April 11, previewing Renee’s mission in pursuing what’s right.
Getting companies to admit they have done something wrong takes a lot. They’d rather pay an army of lawyers to keep their victims in legal hell forever instead of confronting their crimes. Oxalta decided to pay the victims of Three Rock poisoning and get Manny (Kevin Alejandro) out of jail in a shady deal made with Sharon Leone. When Renee finds Bode (Max Thieriot) and Manny in the video below, she reveals that she’s been working on a class-action lawsuit that would hold Oxalta accountable, since this behavior has been happening in several towns where their industries are. However, Oxalta knows how to keep people silent, threatening them with legal proceedings or paying them for their silence. Manny was one of those paid for his silence. Renee learns just how hard the challenge will be. However, Bode is unhappy with his mother’s actions and might be willing to help.
Why Sharon Made a Deal With Oxalta in ‘Fire Country’ Season 3
Sharon’s deal with the company absolved them of any responsibility for the deaths and sickness at Three Rock in exchange for payouts and Manny’s freedom. Thieriot explained why she took that step, which seemed to side with the bad guys. “Sharon approaches things from a real sort of tactical, strategic way, like with everything that she does. . . . . Sharon’s just trying to approach it from a clear sort of methodical way,” he told TV Insider. This won’t sit well with other characters who are invested in the lives of these inmates, including Eve (Jules Latimer). Someone died, and there need to be consequences. Renee is trying to make that happen, but it’s not as easy as it sounds.
