The first confirmed expansion is a prequel series exploring the love story of Mel’s parents, Everett (Callum Kerr) and Sarah (Jessica Rothe). But according to showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, that may just be the beginning. Speaking to Swooon, Smith revealed he’s constantly brainstorming ways to expand the world further:
“It’s a rich world with rich characters. Putting romance forward feels like there’s a ton of potential… There’s huge potential. It’s a great story engine.”
