Virgin River Season 6 To Debut Early On THIS Date

The Netflix romance series will make a 2024 premiere instead of returning in 2025, making it an early Christmas gift for fans. The upcoming sixth season will also delve into the past of Alexandra’s Breckenridge’s Mel and show the lead up to her marriage with Jack, played by Martin Henderson.

Virgin River fans received a pleasant surprise after Netflix announced the series’ release date of December 19. The sixth season of the show was expected to premiere in early 2025. However, this is an added bonus after last season’s Christmas-themed episodes. Along with the surprise announcement, Netflix also dropped some first-look images to show what the characters of Virgin River are up to this season. Here’s what we know so far.

Virgin River to premiere in December 2024

The new season of Netflix’s Virgin River is going to be all about babies and weddings. Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith reveals Season 6 will also be all about the wedding of Alexandra’s Breckenridge’s Mel and Martin Henderson’s Jack. He also promises lots of surprises for the characters of the small mountain town.

Speaking with Tudum, Smith shared, “We’re trying to hit all the milestones of the pre-wedding planning, the bachelor and bachelorette parties, the rehearsal dinner. Mel and Jack will advance on their path to parenthood while also turning Lilly’s (Lynda Boyd) farm into their ultimate dream home.”

About Virgin River Season 6

Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Mark Ghanimé, Kai Bradbury, and Kandyse McClure make up the rest of the ensemble cast of Virgin River. Smith also teases new directions for the characters of Preacher (Lawrence), Brady (Hollingsworth), and Kaia (McClure).

Season 6 will look back in the past to the 1970s as it delves into the early relationship of Mel’s parents, Sarah and Everett.
