Get ready, fans! Season 6 of the beloved romance series “Virgin River,” filmed in British Columbia, is set to premiere on Netflix this Christmas, dropping on December 19th.
However, viewers can expect a change in season—this time, the story unfolds in spring, just a few months after the Christmas-themed episodes of Season 5, with Mel and Jack’s wedding as the central event.
Showrunner Patrick Smith shared insights with Tudum, stating, “We’re focusing on all the milestones of pre-wedding planning, including the bachelor and bachelorette parties, and the rehearsal dinner.”
But that’s just the beginning.
Mel and Jack will continue their journey toward parenthood while working on turning Lilly’s farm into their dream home. According to Smith, “This setting in North Langley could be the perfect home for Mel and Jack.”
Cast
The cast includes Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel and Martin Henderson as Jack, along with Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Mark Ghanime, Lauren Hammersley, Kai Bradbury, Kandyse McClure, and many others.
Filming Locations
Regular filming locations in British Columbia include Jack’s Bar, which is represented by The Watershed Grill in Brackendale near Squamish, with interior scenes shot in studio. Mel’s cabin is depicted by the historic McCrea cabin in North Vancouver’s Murdo Frazer Park, also featuring studio interiors.
Mark your calendars for a cozy binge-watch this holiday season!
