The Game of Thrones stars were sent the season 8 script at the same time, but actress Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark read it at lightning speed. When Turner saw the moment in episode 2 where Arya Stark had her first sex scene, she immediately called her co-star.
I called Maisie, like, “Have you read it?” – Sophie Turner recalls – “She was like ‘I’m halfway through book one’ and I said ‘Here, this scene, this page, read it now’. This is great! She quite enjoyed it.”

Actress Maisie Williams initially suspected the scene between Arya and her handsome friend and former companion Gendry (Joe Dempsie) wasn’t quite right. Producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss have pranked the cast by sending them bogus scripts in the past (such as sending Kit Harington a scene in season 1 where Jon Snow’s face, horribly deformed). “At first, I thought it was a joke. I was like, ‘Yo, that’s good,’ and the producers were like, ‘No, we’re not doing this this season.’
By the time we sat down to read the script, Maisie Williams had accepted that, okay, Arya would sleep with Gendry the night before the great battle of Winterfell against the Army of the Dead. “I read this carefully and started thinking ‘So we’re actually going to shoot this scene. When should I film it? I need to go to the gym to exercise for a beautiful body.’ Truly a very long list of things to do.

Many actors were nude throughout this film, and they signed contracts when they were at least 18 years old (and often agreed to be nude as part of their agreement). Williams says the producer lets her decide exactly how hot. David and Dan were like: ‘You can show off as much or as little as you want.’ The actress said: ‘So I keep myself quite private. However, during filming, Williams had to be nude on set, which naturally caused a bit of awkwardness. She shared: “Initially everyone was very respectful. “The scene was rushed after that,” Williams continued. We are directed by director David Nutter, who has a habit of speaking quickly in any situation. At the end, we were rushing to finish the scene and David was like ‘Okay, you’re going to come do this and do that, it’s great, it’s great’ and then walked away. And I was like ‘Okay. Let’s do it’.”
