What happened to the Reagan family?

In a few months, Blue Bloods will bid farewell to its loyal fans after 14 seasons at the top of the CBS network. Although a spin-off has been confirmed, it’s still unclear who will appear in it or when it will air. So, it’s time to dream of happy endings for the Reagan family. However, there are family members who probably deserve a happy ending.

No matter what kind of future the show has in store for its main players (whether it’s a bullet in the line of duty and a state funeral or kids, happy marriages, and lifelong enemies locked up forever), those endings are sure to be compelling. But here are three characters who deserve to end the series happy and two who probably won’t have a happy ending, though we hope they get the glory they deserve.

Frank Reagan lives to serve and, to be honest, he’s pretty content with the life he leads. It’s already been revealed that he won’t retire at the end of Blue Bloods, so unless he climbs the political ladder, he’s unlikely to see any changes on the work front. That means his love life—after being dormant for decades out of respect for his late wife—won’t be resurrected either.

Frank’s story conclusion is likely not pure misery, but it probably won’t be the happy and ecstatic ending that his children and grandchildren will likely enjoy. The best ending Frank can hope for is that his life continues without much stress, with his children and grandchildren around him and his father always there to give advice. It would be a good ending, a sweet ending even, but not a personally enriching or exciting one that gives him the happiness he deserves.

On the other hand, characters like Danny Reagan, Erin Reagan, and Jamie Reagan are more likely to have happy endings. Danny, after years of struggle and pain, deserves to find peace and happiness with his family. Erin, with her career in the district attorney’s office, could finally find the balance between her professional and personal life. Jamie, always the idealist, could see his dreams of justice and love come true

However, not all characters will have a happy ending. Some, like Commissioner Garrett Moore, might face insurmountable challenges that prevent them from achieving full happiness. Others, like Detective Anthony Abetemarco, might see their stories conclude more tragically, reflecting the harsh realities of life in law enforcement.

The end of Blue Bloods will be an emotional moment for fans who have followed the series for over a decade. It will be an opportunity to reflect on the characters’ journeys and celebrate the moments of triumph and tragedy they’ve shared. Although some characters won’t get the happy ending they deserve, their stories will continue to resonate in the hearts of viewers. With the future of the series still up in the air and a spin-off on the way, fans can look forward to more adventures and challenges for the Reagan clan. But for now, it’s time to say goodbye to an era and celebrate the legacy of Blue Bloods.
