Beauty in Black already has fans pleading for the second part of season 2.
The first eight episodes of the Netflix drama — which stars Taylor Polidore Williams as Kimmie, a former stripper who gets into a relationship with one of her former clients, Horace (Ricco Ross) — were released on Sept. 11.
After Horace proposed to Kimmie in season 1, his health started to decline, and he revealed to her that she was the heir to his fortune and the Bellarie business empire. The two get married, and the revelation comes at a major cost, as Horace’s family is shocked by the news and chaos ensues as they try to take back her position.
In addition to Williams and Ross, the hit series, which was created and directed by Tyler Perry, stars Crystle Stewart as Mallory, Amber Reign Smith as Rain, Xavier Smalls as Angel, Julian Horton as Roy, Steven G. Norfleet as Charles, Richard Lawson as Norman, Terrell Carter as Varney, Shannon Wallace as Calvin, Charles Malik Whitfield as Jules and Debbi Morgan as Olivia.
“It wouldn’t be Beauty in Black without a jaw-dropping cliff-hanger or two,” Perry told Tudum in September 2025. “All I can say is, ‘Expect the unexpected’ — the second season is full of twists that will keep you guessing until the very end. Get ready!”
Here’s everything to know about Beauty in Black season 2, part 2, including the plot and cast.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for Beauty in Black!
What will season 2, part 2 be about?
The first part of season 2 follows Kimmie as she becomes the COO of the Bellarie family’s beauty empire after she marries Horace and he names her the head of his business. As Horace’s children, brother and ex-wife find out about the news, they try everything they can to take her down, and it doesn’t look like that will stop in part 2.
In addition to Horace’s family being upset with his business decision, Kimmie also has to face off against the previous boss of Beauty in Black, Mallory.
“Mallory doesn’t do ‘nice’ for very long,” Stewart teased to Tudum. “It’s more of a tactic than a personality trait. Once she realizes Kimmie isn’t impressed or intimidated by her charm, that mask is going to slip fast.”
Despite all the naysayers, Kimmie appears more determined than ever to lead Beauty in Black to success.
“Kimmie’s transformation has honestly been one of the highlights of my career so far,” Williams told Tudum. “I think her confidence really stems from Horace. He believed in her from the start, and he’s been coaching her on how to not only survive this family, but to take up her rightful space with them. Now we’re finally watching her step into that power, and it’s so fun to play.”
The cast have kept the details of the second part under wraps, but Stewart teased that Kimmie and Mallory will continue going against each other in the business rivalry.
“Mallory’s going to dig in harder than ever to protect her power, because she’s not the type to hand over the throne,” Stewart said. “Let’s just say the power shifts are bigger, the betrayals cut deeper, and Mallory has a few tricks no one sees coming. If you think she’s already done her worst, you’re not ready.”
