Where Is Fuller House Filmed: All Locations
Here’s where sequel sitcom Fuller House was filmed. The original Full House was a sitcom created by Jeff Franklin that aired on ABC for eight seasons between 1987 and 1995. The show starred Bob Saget as San Francisco widower Danny Tanner who raises his three daughters D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen), with the help of his brother-in-law Jesse (John Stamos) and best friend Joey (Dave Coulier).
Netflix decided to revive Full House as sequel sitcom Fuller House in 2016. Picking up in real-time, Fuller House closely mirrored the plot of the original show and saw Danny’s newly widowed eldest daughter D.J. move into her childhood home after her husband’s death, enlisting the help of her sister Stephanie and best pal Kimmy (Andrea Barber) to raise her three sons. The majority of the original main cast reprised their roles including Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and John Stamos, although Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen declined to take part in the sequel series.
Although the show is set in San Francisco, Fuller House was actually filmed on a set at Warner Bros. Studios in Los Angeles in front of a live audience, just like the original Full House. However, the show’s opening credits and establishing shots feature plenty of iconic San Francisco locations including the Golden Gate Bridge, Alamo Square Park and its so-called Painted Ladies, and Chinatown. The season 1 episode “A Giant Leap” also saw the cast film on location at AT&T Park, the home of the San Francisco Giants.
The third season of Fuller House saw its cast and crew film further afield than California. When D.J.’s high school sweetheart Steve (Scott Weinger) was set to marry his fiancée in Japan, the Fuller House brood headed to Tokyo where scenes were filmed at local landmarks including the Sanrio Puroland theme park (AKA Hello Kitty Land) and the famous Shibuya Crossing.
One thing every fan of Full House and Fuller House wants to know is the location of the gorgeous Victorian townhouse the Tanner family calls home. The fictional address is 1882 Girard Street, but the home seen in the sitcom’s establishing shots is located at 1709 Broderick Street in San Francisco which is currently on the market for a cool $5.7 million. Fuller House fans can also visit an almost exact replica of the Broderick Street home exterior with a tour of the Warner Bros. Studios.
