Which Bridgerton Wedding Reigns Supreme? Ranking All 5 Aisle Walks So Far md18

Not all Bridgerton weddings are created equal. Over the years, viewers have come to expect at least one wedding from Netflix’s Regency drama every season now that we’re three and a spinoff deep. We’ve also learned, however, not to expect them to play out the same way. So far, five Bridgerton couples have made it down the aisle, but how they get there has been vastly different.

Season 1’s Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon’s (Regé-Jean Page) wedding was hastily arranged, and Season 2 technically never saw Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate (Simone Ashley) actually wed. Season 3’s Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope’s (Nicola Coughlan) may be the most traditional of the bunch, and Francesca’s (Hannah Dodd) and John’s (Victor Alli) was the simplest. Meanwhile, in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story served up a meet-cute-turned-wedding ceremony.

All of Bridgerton‘s nuptials have something to offer, but some stand out as better than others. We have yet to see how Season 4 weighs up to the rest — or even if Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Sophie (Yerin Ha) will get an onscreen wedding at all — but Swooon is going to go ahead and rank what we have so far. Let us know if you agree (or disagree, we’re open to other takes) with our order in the comments at the end of the page.

5. Daphne & Simon (Season 1, Episode 5)

Sorry, but sometimes the OGs don’t always do it best. Simon and Daphne’s romance doesn’t really begin until after they marry. Sure, there’s plenty of solid banter and tension in the lead up, and by the time they’re making it official, the couple is well on their way to a beautiful love story. We did get Simon’s heartfelt declaration of his feelings during his plea to the Queen, but there are still too many things unsaid between them when they’re cornered into marrying to protect Daphne’s reputation. (Remember, they kiss in the garden an episode earlier.) The church is empty except for their closest loved ones when they marry, too, which isn’t bad, but it does contribute to the wedding’s last-minute feel.

4. Francesca & John (Season 3, Episode 8)

Quiet romances are fine and all, but they don’t really make for weddings that cause your heart to flutter. And there’s the fact that Francesca doesn’t appear to actually love John when they get married in Season 3, based on her reaction to locking lips with him for the first time. Still, John and Francesca are sweet, and the ceremony itself is intimate, taking place in the Bridgerton house with their close friends and family. Weddings don’t have to have a lot of fanfare to be special, but since it seems like Francesca’s heart wasn’t in it, ours weren’t either.

3. Anthony & Kate (Season 2, Episode 6)

Does this one really count? We understand Bridgerton not wanting to squeeze two weddings into one season — even though they did it in Season 3 — but we wish we got to see Kate and Anthony say “I do.” If we’re ranking weddings by level of success, the one in Season 2’s sixth episode would be at the bottom of the list, but it is successful in another way, encouraging Kate and Anthony to admit their feelings for each other.

It also makes for a stunning piece of television, full of all the drama we know and love from Bridgerton. Anthony doesn’t wind up marrying Edwina (Charithra Chandran), who finally realizes that he only has eyes for her sister and calls it off at the altar. It’s the site of Anthony and Kate’s stunning first kiss, so we have to put this “wedding” in the middle of our ranking. We can only dream of what their actual ceremony looked like.

2. Charlotte & George (Season 1, Episode 1)

Charlotte (India Amarteifio) and King George’s (Corey Mylchreest) may not have met until moments before their wedding, but it still makes us giddy, and that’s the most important thing. George manages to win both his bride and us over in a single conversation, so when they say “I do,” it still feels magical. The payoff isn’t quite as satisfying as it is when an established couple marries, but we also have to factor in that this is the start of something epic.

They’re already adorably smiley with each other, from when Charlotte walks down the aisle to when they kiss for the first time. It’s also a royal wedding, mind you, so it’s by far the most visually stunning ceremony in the Bridgerton universe. Every inch of every frame is a feast for the eyes, especially when Charlotte’s gown is in it.

1. Colin & Penelope (Season 3, Episode 7)

Whether Polin is your favorite Bridgerton couple or not, can anyone really argue that they get the best wedding in the history of the show (so far)? Colin and Penelope’s wedding is seasons in the making with their years-long friends-to-lovers arc. It’s all about the anticipation, so even if Colin and Penelope’s wedding wasn’t gorgeous, it would still be at the top of our ranking. But it helps that it is well-designed and well-executed. Penelope’s nerves, the look on Colin’s face the moment he sees her, their nods of assurance to each other, the full inclusion of their vows… We almost started crying like Eloise (Claudia Jessie).
