Which Golden Girls Character Is Your Soulmate, Based On Your Zodiac?
A comedy/drama about an emotionally diverse cast of golden-years characters, here’s the ideal Golden Girls match for every Zodiac sign.
Many of the great hangout comedies in television history revolve around the love lives of the various characters—Friends were practically built on will-they/won’t-they relationships, for example. But, The Golden Girls unpacked what it would be like to track four characters in their twilight years and the happiness they sought after their other marriages left them widowed or divorced.
Because of how dynamic and archetypal the characters of The Golden Girls were, there are strong connections to be made when considering which ones would be potential soulmates. One only needs to look at their Zodiac sign-oriented traits to determine which character from the 1980s NBC sitcom is their match.
Aries: Angela
One of the key characteristics of an Aries is how they are inclined to be competitive with anyone and everyone they meet. As such, a soulmate for an Aries would be a character who can hang with this over-eager spirit. Angela, the sister of Sophia, is the perfect example of a character like this. She’s always intent on one-up others, after all, and only an Aries could hang with that.
Taurus: Dorothy
Arguably the leader of The Golden Girls’ key quartet, Dorothy Zbornak is a multi-faceted character. She’s stubborn and sarcastic, but she’s also very open and willing to do anything for the people she cares about.
Considering how Tauruses are well-regarded for loyalty, they will definitely be able to foster a strong romantic connection with Dorothy. She can be slightly intimidating, but Tauruses can readily get on her good side—and she’d never forget it.
Gemini: Gloria
Dorothy’s sister, Gloria, on the other hand, is a bit more of an unpredictable character whose characterization changes based on whatever the plot calls for her to do—even down to the fact that two actors portray Gloria.
That’s why Geminis will be best-suited to a romantic entanglement with Gloria. She’s strong enough to know when a connection won’t work, but the dynamic personality of a Gemini gives the best chance for romance with her.
Cancer: Sophia
While Sophia hides behind an unfeeling, somewhat-insulting demeanor, The Golden Girls frequently demonstrates how she is a highly protective character with the intuition to provide emotional and social support whenever her friends need it the most.
Intuition is also prevalent in Cancers. Considering Sophia also has a tendency to be somewhat narcissistic, she’d be inclined to have a soulmate with similar personality traits as her own. Cancers embody characteristics like that tenfold.
Leo: White
The energy radiating from Blanche at all times is that of a Leo. Leos are famous for the traits that match up with the lion symbol, including the tendencies to be dramatic, fiery, and highly spirited in every situation.
To be a soulmate of Blanche’s, though, one must also be a Leo. It’s the only Zodiac sign that can match up with her high-octane demeanor. Often feeling hot to trot and eager to meet all sorts of people, Leos are the ones she’d have the most successful meeting.
Virgo: Salvadore
Salvadore, the former husband of Sophia who is seen in a flashback capacity on the show, is a character who might seem like he already has his soulmate. But, if a Virgo could travel back to the period before The Golden Girls took place, then Salvadore would be the one to match with.
He’s highly practical and always aware of what he must do, as opposed to what he wants to do. This nobility of spirit is also present in Virgos, meaning a soulmate connection is still possible with a character who already maintained a great love.
Libra: Clayton
Libras are typically associated with qualities of sociability and open-mindedness. Not only do they love meeting all types of people, but they can also strike meaningful connections with them, too.
On The Golden Girls, the most meaningful would come in the potential for dating Clayton, Blanche’s brother. He’s similarly progressively-minded and always willing to be fair to others, meaning that he makes for a great Libra match.
Scorpio: Stan
Stan was easily the best recurring character on The Golden Girls, and some would even argue he was the fifth Golden Girl at times. With his smarmy charm and his eventual growth to accept the kind of person he is, Stan was a well-developed supporter on the show.
Like Dorothy, his ex-wife, Stan was definitely stubborn, but he was also passionate about whatever he set his mind to. As such, the Zodiac-based soulmate for Stan is clearly a Scorpio, who could match his passionate tendencies and complement his avid personality.
Sagittarius: Miles
What a Sagittarius needs in a soulmate is someone who is generous and patient, as they tend to be extroverted, off-the-wall personalities who need the space to be themselves.
That’s why Miles and Rose were such a perfect match for one another. Miles was exceedingly patient and always supportive of exactly who Rose is. The same is true for any potential soulmate he might find, but it’s the Sagittarius who align the best.
Capricorn: Burt Reynolds
Burt Reynolds may not have had a whole lot to do on The Golden Girls, but his cameo is easily the show’s most famous. Thanks to the era, he feels like an intrinsic character on the show, especially since he took Sophia out for an evening once, too.
Ultimately, though, it’s the Capricorns who would match up best with Burt when it comes to soulmate tendencies. Capricorns are independent, after all, and that would suit them better to Reynolds’ period aloofness than any other Zodiac sign.
Aquarius: Pink
The last remaining titular Golden Girl who has not yet been mentioned, Rose clearly occupies the archetype of “the dumb one.” However, she also maintains qualities of earnestness, optimism, sweetness, and generosity.
Above all else, Rose embraces these characteristics in an uncompromising manner; she is always unapologetically herself. The only ones who could be her soulmate are Aquariuses, as they are also original souls who hold true to what makes them unique. Rose would endlessly appreciate that.
Pisces: Michael
Finally, Michael, Dorothy’s son, pops up a couple of times during the seven-season run of the show. In that time, he’s clearly established to be a romantic and musically-inclined character.
Considering how artistic those born under the sign of Pisces tend to be, they will certainly appreciate the artistry within Michael. No matter whether they end up in Miami or wherever Michael tours, the soulmate nature of The Golden Girls is present for Pisces, too.
