Freddie Highmore has been acting from a very young age, starring in the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Spiderwick Chronicles and Bates’ Motel. For the past four years, he has been better known as Shaun Murphy, the autistic doctor who is forever navigating his way through both his professional and personal life. While Shaun tends to say exactly what he means, despite the consequences, Highmore prefers to keep his private life just that.
Who is Freddie Highmore’s new wife?
Very little is known about Highmore when he isn’t in front of the camera.
The 29-year-old has had few romances that the general public have known about up until now.
Some of his rumoured ex-girlfriends have included the likes of actresses Abigail Breslin, Dakota Fanning and Sarah Bolger.
It was unknown whether or not The Good Doctor star was dating anyone as of late until now.
Highmore was a guest on the American talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live where he divulged that he was in fact in a relationship.
But more importantly, was that they actually got married earlier this year.
The conversation started when Kimmel pointed out that Highmore had a ring on his wedding finger.
Confirming the news, Highmore said: “Yes, it is a wedding ring. Yes, I got married.
“It’s funny. Ever since I’ve been wearing this ring people have been asking me if I’m married, so I figured, I should clarify it.”
Unfortunately, the actor didn’t share the identity of his new bride, simply saying that she was British.
Highmore said: “I’m not gonna jump up and down on the couch on the talk show and express my excitement that way.
“I know that you do that in America. But I’m as happy as a Brit can be and I’m married to a very wonderful woman now, so yes I feel very happy.”
Despite having an Instagram account, Highmore hasn’t made any posts yet, going to show that he really doesn’t want anyone knowing about his private life and what he gets up to.
Season five is set to be one all about romance as Shaun is now engaged to girlfriend Lea Dilallo (Paige Spara).
She popped the question in the series four finale when she realised that Shaun was the man for her.
They were both getting ready to have a baby but tragedy struck when she suffered a miscarriage.
But how they were able to support one another through this difficult time proved to Lea that Shaun is who she is meant to be with.
