Exploring Gabriela and Diego’s love story in Fire Country
Stephanie Arcila joined the cast of Fire Country as the main character Gabriela Perez, who gradually becomes a proud firefighter despite constant challenges in her personal and professional lives.
As seen in the previous two seasons, Gabriela has been dealing with a love triangle between her, Diego Moreno (Rafael de la Fuente), and Bode Leone played by Max Thieriot.
Her romantic journey with Diego is filled with emotional twists and turns, as she finds it hard not to think about her unresolved feelings for Bode despite her engagement with Diego.
However, Diego being a supportive partner, has always given Gabriela the sense of stability that she didn’t seem to have found in her past relationship.
Throughout her journey in Fire Country, Gabriela made difficult choices in her life. Following her engagement with Diego, she finally decides to tie the knot with him in season 2. However, before fans get to see if they both said “I do”, Fire Country Season 2 ended with a cliffhanger.
Showrunner talks about Gabriela’s future in Fire Country Season 3
Even though the exact plot details and how Fire Country Season 3 will handle Diego and Gabriela’s relationship remain hidden, we do know what the showrunner teased about the firefighter’s story arc. Per the scoop shared by TV Line, Tia Napolitano said:
“Gabriela is going to really examine how her family of origin, being Manny and Roberta, affects who she is, and how she views relationship. [Gabi] is really going to lean into firefighting and succeeding in that area, very hard.”
Napolitano hinted at Gabriela discovering more about her upbringing and how it has shaped her personality. The firefighter has to deal with more problems including her father Captain Manny Perez (Kevin Alejandro) being arrested after hitting Michael Trucco’s Luke.
Will Gabriela and Diego be able to complete the wedding ceremony in Fire Country Season 3?
After watching the sneak peek of Fire Country Season 3, it’s hard to predict if Gabriela and Diego will be able to finish their wedding ceremony. As seen in the previous season’s finale, Bode couldn’t watch the duo taking the vows, as he still holds feelings for Gabriela.
He realized his mistakes and how he pushed Gabriela away. However, it was too late and Gabriela had already committed to Diego. Season 2 ended with Bode deciding to become a firefighter while Diego and Gabriela stood at the altar in the church waiting for the bride to say “I do”.
As seen in the season 3 trailer shared by CBS on Instagram, the wedding is disrupted right before Gabriela is about to finish her vows. A helicopter hits the church window, leading Gabriela to leave the ceremony and take on her responsibilities as a firefighter.
Additionally, in another video shared by the network, Stephanie Arcila’s Gabriela is wearing her uniform, but the engagement ring is missing from her finger. Does that mean Gabriela went back to Bode?
Well, fans will have to watch the premiere to see what happened after the incident took place during the wedding ceremony.
