Who plays Lea’s parents in The Good Doctor?
The Good Doctor: Freddie Highmore stars in season finale trailer
The Good Doctor has followed Dr Shaun Murphy’s (played by Freddie Highmore) and Lea Dilallo’s (Paige Spara) relationship blossom from friendship into romance. Fans have been delighted to watch the pair and they continue to face the hurdlers every couple faces: meeting the parents. The ABC medical drama aired Parenting yesterday, Monday, January 25, where we finally got to meet Lea’s mum and dad.
After dating for several months, Shaun was invited to dinner to meet Lea’s parents Pam and Mike, making her very anxious.
Unfortunately, it went just as Lea thought it might with her mum and dad firing inappropriate questions towards Shaun regarding his autism.
While her mum asked if him being autistic made his job at the hospital more difficult, her dad probed him on his thoughts of certain vaccines causing the condition which there is no evidence of.
So both Lea and Shaun left the dinner feeling rather deflated but it didn’t end there.
Her parents texted Lea the next day saying they wanted to discuss Shaun and said they didn’t think she was ready for such a “complicated” relationship.
Later on in the episode though, Shaun was able to once again come face to face with them and explained their challenges made them stronger.
He said how he was able to make Lea more patient as he was often frustrating, much like her parents.
By the end of the instalment, Pam and Mike were very apologetic and invited them out to dinner.
Who plays Lea’s parents in The Good Doctor?
Despite there being plenty of drama in the latest episode of The Good Doctor, some fans couldn’t help but be distracted by the casting choice for Lea’s parents.
First of all, Pam is played by actress Julie Warner who has starred in numerous television shows and films.
These include Tommy Boy, Doc Hollywood, Stick It and Flatliners but viewers will probably remember Warner more for her TV work.
Warner starred in Family Law as Danni Lipton and was in Nip/Tuck for three years as Megan O’Hara.
