Why Ghosts Needs To Give Sass A Love Life Sooner Rather Than Later

Ghosts Season 4 Already Ended One Sass Love Story Sadly

Sass needs a love story soon given how sad his season 4 story has been so far, and not just because dating Marisa in Jay’s dreams turned out to be a dead end. Before Ghosts season 4’s Carol comeback gave her a bigger supporting role, episode 8, “A Very Arondekar Christmas Part 1,” saw Thor betray Sass’s trust by telling Flower about him dying a virgin. Flower tried to get Pete’s ex-wife to sleep with Sass, but he had no interest in the proposition and was hurt to learn that Thor had shared his secret.

Although Sass may have forgiven Thor, his storyline in the Christmas special remained atypically downbeat. Despite Pete’s promises, he still hadn’t met anyone on his travels who would have worked as a love interest for Sass. Meanwhile, Sass’s own attempts to date in Jay’s dreams proved an embarrassing misfire. While Pete might be Ghosts season 4’s favourite character, the sitcom hero is overdue to pay off his promise to Sass. Watching the supporting star waiting in the wings only gets sadder every time a character mentions his virginity, as Hetty and Flower do in episode 16, “St. Hetty’s Day.”

When Sass Might Finally Find His Partner In Ghosts

Fortunately, all hope is not lost for Sass’ romantic future in Ghosts season 4. According to TVLine, Ghosts season 4 will reveal Sass’s long-awaited backstory and this could well come as part of a love story for the character. Sass is one of the most central ghosts in the series to not yet receive an in-depth flashback episode, and these tend to be more emotionally charged, poignant outings than the show’s usual sitcom antics.

While Ghosts is hardly The Bear, if ever there was a time for the comedy show to get emotional, this would be it. Sass’s life remains a mystery and his lack of a love life is one of the saddest details about his character, so naturally it makes sense for the show to tackle both of these issues in the same episode. Furthermore, this could take the sting out of Sass’s backstory.

Sass’s backstory is likely to be a sad one, so it would be a nice touch if he had some hope in the present.

Since viewers know Sass died a virgin, it seems fair to suggest that he died well before his time. His backstory is likely to be a sad one, so it would be a nice touch if he had some hope in the present. This could ideally come in the form of a love interest who can ensure that his future is more promising than his past. It might not be because Pete came through on his promise and found someone for him, but Ghosts season 4 can still give Sass some hope for the future by introducing his love interest.
