Why Isn’t Chicago Med on 30/? A Fan’s Guide

There is no new episode of Chicago Med this week, but luckily season 10 will resume sooner than you might expect!

Since kicking off its tenth season, Chicago Med has been airing without interruption thus far this season but the streak of new episodes officially comes to an end this Wednesday night.

Unfortunately, there is no new episode of One Chicago’s hit medical drama coming fans’ way this Wednesday night as the three One Chicago shows are taking the week off with no new episodes airing this evening, Oct. 30. Instead, NBC will be airing a night of encores which will allow fans to relive the action from the season openers.

For Chicago Med, fans can enjoy a rerun of the season 10 premiere, “Sink or Swim,” which saw the ED overrun with an influx of patients following an accident involving a commuter ship. The premiere also introduced us to this season’s two new additions with the debuts of Sarah Ramos as Dr. Caitlin Lenox and Darren Barnet as Dr. John Frost. The episode also featured a trio of exits including two that we had not seen coming and the off-screen goodbye of Dr. Crockett Marcel.

When does Chicago Med return?

The good news is that while Chicago Med is not new this Wednesday, the show will return with a new episode in a week’s time with new episodes of the One Chicago shows planned for Wednesday, Nov. 6!

As the promo for episode 6, “Forget Me Not,” teased, the next episode of the season will see the threat against Goodwin escalating which is going to lead to a small crossover with Chicago PD as Atwater enters the picture to help investigate the threats made against her. Via the episode’s synopsis, it’s confirmed that Chicago PD will be stepping up her security detail when she’s threatened online by a former employee, giving us another clue as to who is behind the threats being made.

Elsewhere in the episode, we’ll get to see Frost and Archer teaming up to treat a group of injured disciplinary campers who sustain various injuries from a rockslide, and Maggie will help deliver a high school student’s baby.

It promises to be yet another thrilling episode and don’t forget you can always catch up on past episodes of Chicago Med via Peacock, which is home to every season of the show while you wait for season 10’s next new episode to arrive on Nov. 6!
