Why Tracker Is Not Airing On Its Regular Timeslot Tonight (March 1) & When Season 3, Episode 10 Releases

Tracker season 3 is coming back with new episodes, but fans need to keep an eye out, because it isn’t airing in its usual timeslot. In an unusual move, CBS had a lengthy winter break for the 2025-2026 TV season, leaving viewers eager with anticipation to know what’s next for their favorite network TV heroes. The fact that Tracker season 3’s midseason final left the fates of Colter Shaw and Keaton hanging in the balance makes the show’s return all the more exciting.

Ahead of its comeback for this ongoing cycle, Tracker has fully revamped Colter’s team, with all of his original support system, Velma, Teddi, and Bobby, no longer part of the series. Reenie and Randy have been trying to support him remotely, but on the road, Justin Hartley’s survivalist character has been leaning on new allies every week. During its last 2025 episode, he reunited with Keaton for a case that ended up more complicated than they both anticipated.

While it’s understandable that there’s additional interest in tuning on Tracker season 3 with Colter and Keaton’s fates hang in the balance, it’s worth noting that the show isn’t airing in its usual timeslot when it returns tonight, March 1, 2026. Since it premiered its new year back in October 2025, Hartley’s show has occupied the 8 PM ET block on Sundays. That changes today, as Tracker season 3, episode 10 will be delayed an hour to 9 PM ET instead.

For what it’s worth, Tracker is not new to the later release time. When it premiered back in 2024 as CBS’s post-Super Bowl debut, it first aired at 10 PM ET. It hasn’t come back to that set-up, but over the last couple of years, it has moved timeslots between 8 PM ET and 9 PM ET. While strategic scheduling is important when it comes to setting up shows for success, Tracker is popular enough that CBS is confident that this change won’t have any significant impact on its viewership.

Why CBS Is Delaying Tracker’s Timeslot & How Long This Change Will Last

Tracker season 3’s delayed timeslot tonight is motivated by the premiere of Marshals. Marking Yellowstone‘s network TV debut, the new show will see the return of Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton, as he embarks on a brand new life after they sold the family ranch during the flagship’s end. By pairing it with an established show like Tracker, CBS is increasing the chances of non-Yellowstone fans tuning in for its new spinoff.

Six years after Supernatural wrapped its run, Jensen Ackles’ perfect replacement is clear, but it forces CBS to make a big change to its programming.

Moving forward, this change will be permanent until the end of the 2025-2026 TV cycle. If the arrangement proves to be successful and Marshals is renewed for season 2, it’s safe to say that CBS will maintain this scheduling when it returns with the new season this upcoming fall. Tracker is already renewed for season 4 anyway, and given how great it has been on Sunday nights, it’s unlikely that it will change release days.
