The trailer for the final season of ABC’s hit drama series, Station 19, has just debuted, with the series set to premiere next week. The Grey’s Anatomy spin-off — from creator Stacy McKee, Grey’s mastermind Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Paris Barclay — which will debut alongside the long-running medical drama, is coming to an end after seven seasons. It presents new threats to the firehouse family like explosive chemicals, warehouse fires, and a possible quarantine situation involving a massively contagious illness, as well as budget cuts threatening the very future of the station.
The cast of Station 19 includes Jaina Lee Ortiz (Andy), Barrett Doss (Vic), Boris Kodjoe (Sullivan), Danielle Savre(Maya), Jay Hayden (Travis), Grey Damon (Jack), Jason George (Ben), Stefania Spampinato (Carina), Carlos Miranda (Theo), Merle Dandridge (Natasha), and Josh Randall (Beckett). The season kicks off with the episode “This Woman’s Work”, in which Andy steps into the station’s captaincy as Jack’s life hangs in the balance following his collapse in the season 6 finale, while Natasha continues to fight for her career, Maya and Carina made a fateful decision and the team is called to deal with a hostage situation.
At the time of the series’ cancellation, Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich offered a warm goodbye to the spinoff and promised the excitement wasn’t over quite yet.
“For seven seasons Station 19 has been a highlight of the ABC lineup thanks to Shonda and Betsy’s incredible vision, beloved characters and compelling storytelling. With Zoanne and Peter at the helm of the upcoming farewell season, we have so much to look forward to, most notably the celebration of the show’s milestone 100th episode.”
Where Did Season 6 of ‘Station 19’ End and What is the Show About?
Station 19 is a drama series focused on the lives of firefighters and paramedics at a Seattle fire station, blending their high-stakes professional lives with personal challenges and relationships. In the Season 6 finale of Station 19, titled “Glamorous Life,” the show delivered dramatic and emotional storylines, including a toxic relationship between Theo and Vic coming to a head, and significant moments for several couples, such as Ben and Bailey showcasing their strong bond during a Medal of Valor presentation. Additionally, Marina and Maya find happiness and consider expanding their family, potentially through adoption. However, the episode also leaves questions about Jack’s future and his role in the team.
