“Will They Be Back? Big Bang Theory Star Breaks Silence on Max Spinoff Return”

Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik is unsure if she’ll join the show’s new spinoff series.

In an interview with E! News, Bialik, who played Amy Farrah Fowler on Big Bang Theory, revealed that she isn’t aware of her involvement in the spinoff yet. “If I am, I don’t know it,” she noted. “I got the news like everybody else. We’re all still pretty close, so there was a lot of texting going on. And I asked my agent. He was like, ‘I don’t know.’ I guess no one knows at this point, but I can’t wait to find out.”

Will Mayim Bialik Return For The Big Bang Theory Spinoff?

The Big Bang Theory has a second spinoff in the works after the success of Young Sheldon. The new show was announced by Max (formerly known as HBO Max) and will be helmed by Chuck Lorre, who co-created the original series and Young Sheldon. Though Bialik is uncertain about a starring role on the show, she’s also open to a guest appearance. “I’ll do anything related to anything like that,” she said. “But yeah, we really have no idea. So I’m in the same boat as everyone else.” Notably, the actor has made guest appearances on Young Sheldon, lending her voice as Amy Farrah Fowler.

Plot details about the upcoming spinoff continue to remain under wraps. Bialik also shared that her children are enthusiastic about the spinoff and want to know if she’s involved in it in any way, but she doesn’t have any updates to share with them yet. “I loved all of our characters. And we’ve had so many incredible guest characters. So I was like, it could be anything. It could literally be anything,” she added.

Bialik has stayed busy after her stint on Big Bang Theory. She currently stars on the Fox sitcom Call Me Kat, where she plays the titular role of a 39-year-old woman who gives up a successful career to set up a cat café. She may also be involved in the return of the popular 90s NBC sitcom Blossoms, which she originally starred in as the protagonist.

Given how reboots have become increasingly popular in the last few years, Bialik is hopeful that Blossoms may soon return to television screens. She’s particularly excited about revisiting old characters after all these years and putting a new spin on them. “We’re thinking about coming back,” Bialik shared. “There’s a lot of things that have to happen… But Don Reo, our creator, and I have finally been able to find a breath and an opening in my life and schedule where we’re ready to talk about it actively.”
