The bad news is that the next episode of Will Trent is delayed; the good news is that fans still won’t have to wait too long to watch it. The ABC police procedural is based on the series of the same name by Karin Slaughter, and chronicles the titular character’s work and personal lives, which often overlap. Will Trent is a highly skilled GBI agent who works with his partner, Faith Mitchell, to solve cases. The two main characters of Will Trent frequently team up with APD, but primarily with two detectives — Angie Polaski (Will’s childhood friend and on-again, off-again love interest) and her partner, Michael Ormewood.
In Will Trent season 3, Will and Angie tried (and failed) to navigate the new dynamics in their relationship after she was arrested in season 2. Will and Angie also started dating new people. However, Will broke up with Marion Alba after he accidentally shot and killed a child. Angie’s relationship with Dr. Seth McDale was also on the brink of disaster after she relapsed in episode 15. With only three episodes left in Will Trent season 3, anything could happen — not just for Will and Angie, but for the other characters as well (especially Ormewood, who may have cancer).
Will Trent season 3, episode 16 won’t air in its usual time slot (but it will air tonight)
Normally, new episodes of Will Trent season 3 air on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. However, episode 16, “Push, Jump, Fall,” won’t. Yes, ABC will still air the next episode of season 3 tonight, April 29, but it will be delayed by an hour.
If this were a normal week, “Push, Jump, Fall” would air at 8 p.m. ET. Instead, the network is pushing the new episode to 9 p.m. ET. So, Will Trent season 3 episode 16 officially airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
Why Will Trent season 3 episode 16 aired late on April 29
According to ABC News, the network will air its “exclusive” interview with President Donald Trump (“President Trump’s First 100 Days: The Oval Office Interview”) tonight at 8 p.m. ET, which is when ABC typically releases new Will Trent season 3 episodes. The special covers Trump’s first 100 days in office, as its title suggests. However, it’s only an hour long, meaning Will Trent fans will only have to wait an extra hour than usual to watch the new episode.
What to Expect from Will Trent Season 3, Episode 16
Will Trent Season 3, Episode 15 ended with Angie’s latest tragedy — her mother, who abused her throughout her childhood, passed away. Sadly, Angie relapsed as a result. She went to a bar and ordered a drink, breaking her hard-won sobriety. So, episode 16, “Push, Jump, Fall,” picks up after this huge development involving Angie’s character. According to the hour’s synopsis, Angie “spirals after a traumatic event,” meaning things will only get worse for her before they get better.
Elsewhere in the episode, Ormewood “grapples with his diagnosis,” revealing that he finally learns whether or not his brain tumor is cancerous. Unfortunately for him, it doesn’t seem like he’s getting good news. As for Will and Faith, the two partners “fight to clear an innocent woman’s name while uncovering a deadly drug ring” in Will Trent season 3, episode 16.
