Yellowstone 6666: Everything we know so far about the spinoff
There’s no shortage of Yellowstone spinoffs, thanks to the incredible success of the original series, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for one more.
Another Yellowstone prequel, currently titled 6666 (pronounced “Four Sixes), is in the works, series creator Taylor Sheridan has confirmed. But there’s one big problem: Sheridan hasn’t said when the movie will premiere, and as of this writing, there’s still no casting.
Four Sixes was initially announced as a planned prequel to the Yellowstone series back in 2021. However, since then, Sheridan has barely commented on the series and has only given a brief description of its content. content that the film will focus on. While there had been some hope that the series would be released in 2023, Hollywood writers and actors recently ruled out that possibility.
“For some reason, that requires a unique level of care because this is a place that actually has real families working here,” he said, referring to the series. “You have to respect the lineage. I told [the studio] to be patient.”
Regardless of the series’ delay, interest in 6666 has not diminished one bit. And fans of the wildly popular Yellowstone world are anxiously awaiting the launch of 6666.
Here’s everything we know so far. And be sure to check back often as we continue to update this page with the latest details.
What is 6666 about?
Scanned details are exactly what we can expect from 6666, but the IMDb listing suggests the series’ plot will focus on the Comanche tribe and cowboys, along with the ranch itself.
“Established when the Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America has a deeper Western history than 6666,” the IMDb listing says. “Still operating as it did two centuries ago and covering the entire district, 6666 is where the rule of law and natural law merge in a place where the most dangerous thing people do is the next thing. 6666 is synonymous with the tireless effort to raise the best horses and cattle in the world, and is ultimately the birthplace and birthplace of world-class cowboys.”
Perhaps most interesting about it, however, is that the show won’t be set on the Dutton Ranch, allowing the Yellowstone story to expand beyond its physical limitations to an actual ranch worth significant historical value in West Texas.
When does 6666 come out and where can I watch it?
As of this writing, there are still no confirmed reports about when 6666 will air. There’s some hope that 2024 could be the year we finally get the movie, but until Sheridan is ready, can find a cast, and puts pen to paper, it’s hard to say.
However, since Sheridan signed a big deal for spin-offs with Paramount, it’s likely the film will be available to stream on Paramount+ if and when it launches.
Who are the members of the cast of 6666?
We do not know. As of this writing, no one from the future 6666 cast has been announced yet, and it’s unknown when those announcements will be made.
Unlike the Yellowstone Ranch in Montana, 6666 is a real ranch that calls Panhandle, Texas its home. The farm has been around for more than 200 years and spans 270,000 acres. And here’s another fun fact about 6666: Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone and a former struggling actor, bought the ranch in 2021 and now lives there.
Therefore, and considering how serious Sheridan was about ensuring the authenticity of the farm story, it seems likely (if not guaranteed) that 6666 will be filmed on his property at the farm . But that’s not too far-fetched – scenes in seasons four and five of Yellowstone were filmed at 6666.
What is 6666’s connection to the Yellowstone franchise?
In season 4 of Yellowstone, Jimmy (Jefferson White) is sent from the Yellowstone Ranch to work at Ranch 6666, where he finally learns how to be a real cowboy; In the final episode of season 4, he seemingly leaves Yellowstone for a ranch in Texas, with his fiancee, Emily (Kathryn Kelly).
So it’s possible that both will appear in 6666, but, according to IMDB’s synopsis, they might just have repeats if the show delves deeper into the past than the present.
Although the plot of the series suggests that cowboys will play a major role in the story and it is very possible that one or two Duttons will star in the series, it is currently unclear which members of the family Dutton and their relationships with others will find their way to your screens. It is also possible that the Duttons do not appear in the filmthe series, since this will be the first spinoff to focus entirely on a completely different ranch in a different state.
