‘Yellowstone’ Final Episodes Are Finally Filming

Date To Resume Filming On Final Episodes Of Yellowstone Finally Set

The Duttons finally have a call time!

After an extended hiatus, the second half of season five of Yellowstone will begin filming in late spring of 2024, Deadline reports.

“This is a logical start of production target given the fact that the popular series from Taylor Sheridan shoots largely outdoors in Montana and would need to wait for the winter to be over,” the outlet noted, adding that this lines up with Paramount Network’s targeted November 2024 premiere for the final installment.’

But that’s where the good news ends for fans of the series. According to Deadline, “there are no plans for Yellowstone star Kevin Costner to return for the series’ final chapter.” Though writer Nellie Andreeva admitted that “anything is possible.”

Costner announced that he would be departing the show after season five in May.

After rampant speculation regarding his motives, the Oscar-winner testified in a September child support hearing that it was a “long, hard-fought negotiation” about splitting season five into two parts that spurred his decision to leave Yellowstone. Scheduling conflicts with his own Western epic, the two-part movie series Horizon: An American Saga, a “passion project” that he famously took out a mortgage to fund, proved too much to overcome.

Sheridan previously revealed that his premature exit from the juggernaut series after season five “truncates the closure of his character.”

This is a developing story.
