Yellowstone Star Confirms One Character Will Definitely Be Team Beth In Season 5, Part 2: “No Exception”

One Yellowstone star has revealed their character will be on Team Beth in season 5 part 2, hinting at their role in the final season. Yellowstone season 5 part 2 will follow the setup of the season’s first half, with Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Jamie (Wes Bently) now at war with one another, each vying for control over their family’s vast empire and the titular Ranch. This will no doubt include the revelation of what happened to John Dutton after actor Kevin Costner was written out of the Western series.

Speaking with TV Insider, however, Kelsey Asbille, who portrays Monica, revealed that her character will be on Beth’s side of the fight once Yellowstone comes back. The actor explained how the friendship between the pair will influence her to side with her during the upcoming conflict, hinting at a major role for her in the process. Check out what Asbille had to say about Monica’s role in the new episodes below:

It’s safe to say Monica is Team Beth. It’s one of my favorite relationships on the show. They share a deep love and respect for each other. This season is no exception, Monica has her back.

What Monica Being On Beth’s Side Means For Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2

Her Decision Could Influence Kayce’s Storyline

Monica siding with Beth comes after she reconciled with the death of her son, who she was pregnant with at the start of the season. But, even though her and Kayce (Luke Grimes) have been through the grievous pain of losing a child, the characters in Yellowstone will still be prioritizing this seemingly final conflict between the Dutton siblings. With her choosing to side with Beth outright, it could make her husband feel forced to choose between his brother and sister, potentially escalating the conflict even further.

Her siding with Beth could also hint at Monica’s future, as a potential Yellowstone season 6 is reportedly happening, with Beth and Rip (Cole Hauser) coming back as the lead characters. Since an earlier report hinted Kayce could also be back for more episodes, it wouldn’t be surprising if Asbille’s statement confirms Beth will be the winner of the family conflict about to unfold. Then again, there’s no word on whether Jamie could come back in the franchise’s future either, meaning Monica’s role might not define how the family’s feud comes to a close.

Our Take On Monica Siding With Beth In Yellowstone’s (Possibly) Final Episodes

Her Stance Makes Sense Given All She’s Been Through

Monica siding with Beth makes sense given her own personal struggles during season 5, potentially finding more solace in her sister-in-law by giving her the support she needs in her fight. Although the real winner of Yellowstone‘s final conflict has yet to be revealed, two powerhouse characters supporting each other might spell disaster for Jamie’s endeavors. With two months left until the series returns, it won’t be long until all is revealed about how the Dutton family’s story possibly ends.
