Q’orianka Kilcher is returning for Yellowstone season 5, reprising her role as tribal lawyer Angela Blue Thunder. The neo-Western drama series premiered on Paramount Network back in 2018, tracking the tensions that build along shared borders of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, as conflict between its owners, Broken Rock Indian Reservation, and land developers lead to crime and a struggle for power. Kilcher appeared in Yellowstone season 3, portraying Angela, who was hired by Thomas Rainwater to help stop Market Equities and make things better for the people of Broken Rock, though she proved to be just as calculating and resolute as some of her opponents.
Now, Deadline is reporting that Kilcher will reprise her role in Yellowstone season 5 when it returns on November 13. The character of Angela piqued particular interest among fans and was last seen in the season 3 finale, titled “The World Is Purple,” in which she cautioned Rainwater that the land must be retaken by any means necessary.
Outside of her work on the show, Kilcher is wrapping up Yesteryear, a project she co-wrote and produced, and can also be seen in Channing Tatum’s recent film, Dog. Many have expressed interest in finding out what happened to Angela Blue Thunder though, and Yellowstone’s two-hour season 5 premiere may prove to be the dramatic return fans were hoping for. While there are no details surrounding Angela’s role this time around, audiences can look forward to seeing her involvement and what kind of opposition she becomes when the new season of Yellowstone debuts.
