Just a month after Netflix announced that Luke Thompson’s beloved character Benedict Bridgerton would take center stage in Season 4, Yerin Ha was cast as his leading lady, Sophie Baek. The 29-year-old actress described the whirlwind experience as a true roller coaster.
“It all happened so quickly,” Yerin shared exclusively with E! News during the October 30 premiere of Dune: Prophecy in New York City. “From my first audition to finding out I got the role, it was just 10 days.”
Yerin emphasized the emotional intensity of the rapid process, saying, “It was definitely a roller coaster ride.”
Season 4 of Bridgerton adapts Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer From a Gentleman, which follows Benedict as he encounters the enigmatic Lady in Silver, only to reunite with her two years later, unaware she is the woman he has long desired.
While the series has made creative liberties in its previous seasons, Yerin hinted at a significant aspect that will remain true to the source material: “You will see the Lady in Silver, and you will see a love story!”
Joining Yerin in the expanding Bridgerton cast is Katie Leung, known for her role in Harry Potter. Leung will portray Araminta Gun, Sophie’s boss—a twice-married, twice-widowed mother debuting her two daughters, Rosamund Li (played by Michelle Mao) and Posy Li (Isabella Wei), on the marriage mart.
