Young Sheldon Season 7 Set Photo Confirms Another Returning Character In Final Episodes

Young Sheldon’s season 7 set photo confirms another character’s return in the final episodes, and it may have to do something with its spinoff.
A new Young Sheldon season 7 set image confirms the return of another unexpected character. The Big Bang Theory spinoff only has 14 episodes left before it officially wraps up its storytelling. However, the limited screen time will make it trickier to stage a satisfying sendoff. Despite the challenge, Young Sheldon season 7 will bring back some familiar faces to join the Cooper family in their final year for various reasons.
In an Instagram story, Mandy actor Emily Osment shares a photo on the set of Young Sheldon season 7 and reveals the return of her on-screen mother, played by Rachel Bay Jones. Check out the image below:
In the caption, she wrote, “workin our butts off,” further confirming Mandy’s mother’s return.
What Mandy’s Parents’ Appearance Means For Young Sheldon Season 7?

Mandy’s parents were introduced in Young Sheldon season 5 after a chance meeting with them at a restaurant effectively entangled them with her and Georgie. They disapproved of her pregnancy, so Mandy was forced to ask Meemaw for help. Over time, however, the McAllisters mellowed on their daughter, especially once Baby Cece was born, but the relationship between Mandy and her mother, particularly, remained complicated. Despite this, they are still connected, so it makes sense that Audrey McAllister will appear in season 7.
Her return is likely related to the planning of Georgie and Mandy’s wedding. The pair finally got engaged in the Young Sheldon season 6 finale after months of an on-and-off relationship. Mandy and her mother may have fought about trivial things when the McAllisters were informed of the good news. Still, it’s difficult to imagine that they remain mad at their kid. It’s uncertain if Audrey’s husband will also appear in season 7, but it’s safe to say that Will Sasso as Jim will at least have a cameo.

Aside from being part of the season 7 storytelling, the McAllisters’ return could be more geared toward the upcoming Georgie and Mandy spinoff. No official cast has been announced aside from Osment and Georgie actor, Montana Jordan, but the McAllisters may at least have a recurring role in the series. Their involvement will not only allow the project to continue to develop Mandy’s relationship with her parents, but it will also pave the way for Georgie’s missing Young Sheldon storyline.
