Young Sheldon: The Extraordinary Beginnings of a Brilliant Mind in a Peculiar World

The Young Sheldon cast talks about what viewers can expect in the series finale. Young Sheldon ends next month after an impressive seven seasons on CBS. Members of the show’s cast shared recently that they’ve wrapped filming on the series finale, which airs on May 16. While viewers might see some of Young Sheldon‘s characters for the last time in that episode, Mandy and Georgie will be back, as CBS has ordered a spinoff focused on the couple.

Speaking with People at Young Sheldon‘s recent PaleyFest panel, cast members including Iain Armitage and Zoe Perry reflected on the show’s ending. When discussing the series finale, Perry teased “fun little” nods to past episodes, as well as Easter eggs. Check out their comments below:

Perry: It’s been very bittersweet. It’s not an easy thing to know that something that’s been so wonderful for us is coming to an end. But I think I can speak for everyone that we’re all just really grateful that we’ve gotten to tell this story, tell it for as long as we have, get to experience the audience reactions and how wonderful they’ve been. I think we’re just so appreciative. Truly.

I think what you could always expect from the show is obviously the levity, the humor, but also a lot of heart. So I think people will be really moved by the ending of this. It’s a big chapter closed.

Armitage: It very much comes full circle, and I think we are trying to do our best to satisfy both fans of our show and Big Bang, and it’s been so much fun to film.
