Starring Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, and Gavin Casalegno, the series follows the former’s Belly, a teenager who becomes caught up in a love triangle between the latter two’s brotherly duo, Conrad and Jeremiah, respectively. Over three seasons, audiences tuned in to see who Belly would choose and weighed in with their feelings on the matter every step of the way. Finally, after three seasons, lots of drama, and even more heartbreak, the title came to an emotionally satisfying conclusion back in September.
‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Will Continue in Feature-Length Form
Although the series may have ended while it was ahead, plans were announced around the title’s finale for a follow-up feature-length project to go into production soon. For now, we know that Han has penned the screenplay, but that cameras haven’t picked up, meaning it will still be a bit of a wait until the movie hits cinemas. As far as the plot goes, it isn’t abundantly obvious what Han is planning by way of storyline, but it’s said to pick up following the events of the third season, so we’ll likely catch up with the primary characters and explore the love story between Belly and the brother that she chose (no spoilers!).
