Bachelor Nation saw Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple fall in love and get engaged on the very first season of “The Golden Bachelorette.”
Since their time on the show, the two have been spending time together in their respective hometowns and traveling the world together.
The couple loves to keep fans updated with their lives online, and this week, Chock revealed that his fiancée was the only reason that he went on the show.
In an interview online, he admitted that he told producers he wouldn’t go on the show if Joan wasn’t the lead.
“It was very interesting because they ask you, ‘Who’s your type?’ What do you like? You go through a lot of pre-testing, a lot of inquiries — questionnaires,” he said, “And then they came back with, when I had a Zoom meeting with the executive producers, they go, ‘What do you think about Joan?’ And I was at a point, I go, ‘If it’s not Joan, I’m not going.’”
Chock continued, revealing how his daughter helped give him the confidence to move forward with the process.
“I really said that it’s just not for me, because there were some people’s names that were floating around,” he stated, “My daughter was living in L.A. and [she] goes, ‘I’ve got the inside scoop. It’s going to be Joan.’ And I don’t think she really did, but she knows a lot of people out here.”
The Golden Bachelor Nation star went on, “She said she knew it was Joan before I think Joan even knew it was her. But it just worked out. But I was very, very direct, going, ‘It’s Joan or I’m not interested in coming.’”
