Nicola Coughlan has addressed her future in Bridgerton Season 5 as Lady Penelope Bridgerton.
Netflix’s Bridgerton was scandalous from the very beginning thanks to mysterious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown who turned out to be Penelope Bridgerton, formerly Featherington (played by Nicola Coughlan).
She had her time to shine in the third season when not only was her secret identity revealed but Penelope found love with her lifelong crush Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
Is Nicola Coughlan returning for Bridgerton Season 5?
When it came to Benedict Bridgerton’s (Luke Thompson) time to shine in Season 4, Penelope and her new husband took a step back like all the previous couples.
Now, Irish star Nicola Coughlan has opened up about her fate on the iconic Netflix romantic drama.
The 39-year-old appeared on This Morning with her Big Mood co-star Lydia West to discuss Season 2.
Presenter Cat Deeley took this opportunity to ask Coughlan if she will be returning for the upcoming season. Coughlan replied: “I’ll be popping in and out. As long as they want me to be there, I’ll be there.
“It’s really nice because it feels so easy for me.

“I just come in and I’m like ‘Hey everyone!’, have a lovely few days and ‘see you in like two months!’ It’s like the best, it’s a dream.”
When Bridgerton does return for Season 5, which is set for either a late 2027 or early 2028 release date, all eyes will be on the show’s first queer love story.
After her husband Sir John Stirling’s (Victor Alli) unexpected death in Series 4, Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) vowed to never marry again.
But as soon as she met John’s cousin Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza), it was clear they had undeniable chemistry which is set to be explored in the upcoming episodes.
So how will Francesca and Michaela’s love story play out when Bridgerton does make its long awaited return?
