The Sheriff Country season finale is almost here—and Morena Baccarin is teasing what’s to come in Edgewater.
Ever since the Fire Country spinoff series premiered on CBS in October 2025, fans have loved seeing Morena fight crimes in Edgewater as Sheriff Mickey Fox. While Mickey leads the investigations, she’s not alone in solving them. She also has help from Nathan Boone (Matt Lauria), Cassidy Campbell (Michele Weaver), and her dad, Wes Fox (W. Earl Brown).
But if there’s one thing Sheriff Country has been known for during its inaugural season, it’s dropping major bombshells on its viewers. And according to Morena, it seems like her character will get a similar treatment ahead of the season 1 finale on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
“Let me just say that Mickey’s been put through the wringer, and where we end in season 1 is a place where you don’t want to find yourself,” she said to People during the 2026 CBS Fest in Los Angeles on April 15. “She really takes a beating and keeps on going … Not that that’s heroic, but sometimes it’s necessary.”
Sheriff Country will return for season 2 this fall on CBS. The announcement came with the news that Amanda Arcuri (who plays Mickey’s daughter, Skye Fraley) and Ian Quinlan (who portrays Hank Iglesias) got promoted to series regulars for the next installment.
“We really do have a good group, and we’re all very supportive of each other,” Morena said. “I know that I couldn’t do the job that I do without them supporting me … Just like Edgewater is a town with people and families and stories, so are we behind the scenes.”
We’ll be on the edge of our seats!
