It’s time to start the countdown for Wednesday season three because the show is officially back in production—and with plenty of new faces on set.
In case you need a refresher, in late 2022, everyone’s favorite sadistic big sis finally got her own TV series with Netflix’s Wednesday. The streamer’s live-action series, all about Wednesday Addams of Addams Family fame, came straight from the deliciously twisted mind of Tim Burton, becoming one of the platform’s most popular series in mere weeks. (Currently, it’s still the number one most-viewed English language series in the streamer’s history, with a cumulative of almost two billion hours viewed.)
22-year-old Jenna Ortega is the latest actor to step into the black-and-white attire of Wednesday Addams, and her modern version of the character can definitely brush shoulders with Yellowjackets star Christina Ricci’s beloved, iconic portrayal of Wednesday from the early ’90s. With the gothic, death-obsessed teen and her macabre-loving family back in the spotlight, we can’t get enough.
Three years after the premiere of season one of Netflix’s Wednesday, season two, which was divided into two parts, arrived in the summer of 2025 and, much like its predecessor, it ended with many satisfying—and TBH, shocking—answers to the mysteries Wednesday was wrapped up in for the season’s entire arc. However, we were left with many questions as well. Is Enid okay? Is Grandma Hester evil? Will Tyler be able to survive as a Hyde? What’s Aunt Ophelia’s deal?
The list could go on and on. There’s still a lot to unravel—and we will likely get all the answers we want in season three. So, below, we’ve compiled a comprehensive guide to everything we know so far about Wednesday season three.
Who is in the cast of Wednesday season 3?
On February 23, 2026, Netflix made the official cast announcement for season three of Wednesday, and rejoice because most of the main cast will reprise their roles for the upcoming season—providing that they survived season two, that is.
As confirmed by Netflix, the main and recurring cast of Wednesday season three includes Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump, Joy Sunday as Bianca, Georgie Farmer as Ajax, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene, Evie Templeton as Agnes DeMille, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, Emma Myers as Enid, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester Addams, Billie Piper as Isadora Capri, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Deputy Ritchie Santiago, Joonas Suotamo as Lurch, Liv Spencer as Varicose, and more.
The cast announcement also revealed a handful of new names joining the cast for its third instalment, most notably Winona Ryder, who will remain in the Netflix bubble following the completion of Stranger Things, taking on the role of Tabitha. Not much is known about the character, but Deadline reports it will be a guest-starring role.
Other guest stars include Game of Thrones alum Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, and James Lance. Details about their roles are being kept under wraps.
Other new cast additions are Chris Sarandon (The Princess Bride) as Baltazhar, Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders, Game of Thrones) as Cyrus, Oscar Morgan (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms) as Atticus, and Kennedy Moyer (Roofman) as Daisy.
They join another previously announced season three addition. On November 25, 2025, Netflix announced that French actor Eva Green (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Dark Shadows) had joined the cast of the show as Morticia Addams’s sister, Ophelia, one of the show’s most mysterious characters, who is mentioned quite a lot in season two.
Aside from cast additions, one cast member isn’t coming back. As noted by Deadline, Noah B. Taylor, who joined the cast in season two as Bruno Yuson, will not come back for season three. Season two of the show previously cut season one actors Naomi J. Ogawa, who played Yoko Tanaka, and Percy Hynes White. White, who played Xavier Thorpe in season one, faced allegations of sexual assault in 2023; per Variety, he publicly denied the claims, calling the allegations a “campaign of misinformation.” His character was mentioned at the beginning of season two as having moved to another country.
When did Netflix renew Wednesday for season 3? And what has the streamer teased about it?
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, published on July 23, 2025, Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega reportedly confirmed that Wednesday had been renewed for a third season, ahead of the season two premiere. Netflix then confirmed the news via Tudum shortly after, unveiling a first-look poster featuring Wednesday in front of a crystal ball, held by Thing, with the number three prominently displayed.”Bad things come in threes,” the poster, which you can see below, reads.
“Our goal for season three is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can,” Wednesday co-creator and co-showrunner Alfred Gough told Tudum. “We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.” Co-creator and co-showrunner Miles Millar added, “We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in season three.”
The Hollywood Reporter noted that, in addition to an early renewal, the streamer reportedly has a spinoff series in the works—though it’s still “in early discussions.” Gough said: “It’s something we’re definitely noodling; there are other characters we can look at.” Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria added, “There’s a lot to explore in the Addams family.”
The showrunners had previously teased their storytelling plans to continue the Wednesday universe: While speaking to TV Line in 2022, Millar and Gough revealed that they planned Wednesday storylines as far out as “four seasons.”
“We felt like we just touched the surface with those characters, and the actors are so amazing in those roles,” Millar said. He also acknowledged that the show’s focus on Wednesday and her journey “to forge her own path outside the family is important,” but that the writers’ room would “definitely” be interested in featuring more of the Addams family dynamic in future seasons.
